$5 Album Round-up – March
Well it’s only been a few days since my last $5 Amazon round-up but I was really late getting that posted, so I wanted to be on-time for this one. In case you don’t know every month Amazon releases 100 albums for $5 a piece. It’s a pretty good deal and sometimes you can find some really good albums for a few singles. So instead of hitting the strip joint, save your singles and buy some music.
Below the post is broken down into 4 categories: No Brainers, If I Have Extra Cash, Best Covers and The Wackness. Of course these are just my opinions so take them or leave them, no worries. Better yet, comment with what you think are the stand-out albums listed this month. Don’t hate; debate.

$5 Album Round-up – February
I was going thru Amazon MP3 today, like any other day and saw a few really good albums listed for five bucks. Thought I would share them with you. I tried to run thru as many as I could and choose what I thought were some must-haves, nice-to-haves and the albums with the best cover art. Everything is listed below, hope you can find at least one thing you might enjoy.

fun.
How do you define it? Well for me it’s a band, a really good band and for lack of a better word, fun. Some pun intended I guess.
Since there is so much music out there, it’s hard to stay up-to-date on all bands, genres, tours, launches, etc; So what I like to do about once or twice a month is purchase a new album without listening to it based on the album artwork. Silly I know, but why not? I like graphic design so I thought: ‘This cover looks interesting, their music probably is as well.’.
So the album cover to the right is why I chose this particular band. It was fun, unique and to be quite honest, didn’t make much sense to me. It appears to me that a boy scout or young private is taking aim to shoot at something and a peacock strangely lands on his rifle, mocking him. Like ‘You can’t shoot me, just stick to playing that bugle son.’ After a good laugh between the two, the peacock flies away and the boy lowers his gun and chooses to pick flowers instead. Okay so that is really far-fetched and I totally made that up, but it could happen. Maybe.
What do you think about the album cover? Does it tell a story? Does it make nice use of muted primary colors?

Welcome to Phraction
Wow, it’s been a heck of a long time but things have calmed down (a bit) and I decided to bring my blog back to life. When I last left off I was using this space for a side-company that I used to do web development and design for. It was my company named ‘Phraction’ and we would do simple local sites, job boards, etc.
Since that time I began working harder at The Morning Call in Allentown, PA and I am now currently working at Viddler. My wife and I now have two kids, we recently moved and a loving yellow lab named Farley.
I intend to use this space for a few things I am passionate about: Life or my family, Music and Code. Pretty much in that order. I have a wide variety of other things I like to do such as run, play Mario Brothers, have a random or not so random Rum and Coke, but in large those are the most important things in my life.
So I quickly made this template (Work-in-Progress) and I am writing this post. Well that about sums up where I am coming from, so watch this space for some meaningful and well quite frankly some not so meaningful insight.
Regards and thanks for reading.
